If you own a farm, ranch, vineyard, or orchard, you are already sitting on a destination experience. Agritourism connects what you produce with what travelers want: authentic, hands-on time in nature. Add a glamping component, and you give guests a reason to stay overnight, extend their visit, and spend more.
Here are four farms that partnered with PlainsCraft to add covered wagon glamping to their agritourism offerings, and what makes each one work.
Down South Gypsy Glamping — Thomson, GA
Down South Gypsy Glamping is set on a working horse farm in Thomson, Georgia, where guests can settle into a peaceful countryside escape surrounded by nature trails, open pasture, and Gypsy Vanner horses with foals. It is the kind of stay that feels private, personal, and rooted in the charm of farm life.
The PlainsCraft wagon gives guests a unique way to experience the property overnight, with opportunities to slow down and add memorable touches to their visit. Guests can book horse meet-and-greets, enjoy candlelight pizza in the barn, collect fresh eggs from the chickens, or spend time nearby at Strom Thurmond Lake for kayaking, swimming, and boating.

The Lavender Farm at Floren Family Farms — Tularosa, NM
Floren Family Farms is a lavender destination in southern New Mexico where guests come to walk the fields, shop for skincare products, and photograph the purple rows in bloom. They have since expanded into zinnias, sunflowers, and pumpkins for seasonal you-pick events.
When the Florens wanted to offer overnight stays, PlainsCraft wagons were the right fit. One wagon now sits among the lavender fields, giving guests a reason to stay past sunset and wake up to a view that practically photographs itself.

The Forbes Family Farm — Manila, UT
The Forbes Family Farm started as a commitment to growing their own food and has grown into a fully realized agritourism destination in rural Utah. They raise animals and crops, offer CSA boxes, host farm-to-table dinners, and teach guests how to cook with fresh produce.
Their approach to glamping reflects their values: the PlainsCraft wagons on their property are solar-powered and intentionally off-grid, giving guests space to disconnect from technology and reconnect with the land. It is stargazing at its best, with the farm as the backdrop.

Isinglass Estate — Lacygne, KS
Isinglass Estate is a 600-acre property in rural Miami County, Kansas that functions as a vineyard, winery, yoga retreat, and petting zoo all at once. The Vore Family established it in 2016 with the goal of sharing their property — miles of trails, lakes, and access to the Marais des Cygnes River — with guests looking for a genuine getaway.
The estate already offered a cottage, guest house, and loft for overnight stays. Adding PlainsCraft wagons gave visitors a new reason to book, and another layer of experience that keeps guests returning. Whether guests are there to ride horses, taste wines, fish, or hike, the wagons extend the visit.

Rooterville Animal Sanctuary — Melrose, FL
Rooterville is a 501(c)(3) non-profit that rescues and provides permanent homes for farm animals. Founded by Elaine West in 2004, the farm operates on 20 acres and gives visitors the chance to tour the property, meet rescued pigs, chickens, cows, and goats, and now, to spend the night.
Two PlainsCraft wagons are positioned near the pastures, so guests can fall asleep to the sounds of the farm and wake up surrounded by animals that have their own stories. For guests who align with the sanctuary’s values around ethical animal care, this is more than a glamping stay — it’s a place they’ll advocate for.

Is Agritourism Glamping Right for Your Farm?
These four properties each have a distinct draw. What they share is the understanding that a covered wagon creates an overnight reason to visit, and an overnight reason to return.
